Access the MySQL data base from out side the server

Hi,
We have a asterisk server with FreePBX and we are very happy with it.
Now I need to access the database from an outside server, but it keeps saying the foolowing error:
1130 -Host ‘192.168.x.76’ not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.
How can I to the server?
i search the web but didn’t solve the problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You probably need to enable mysql to listen on other interfaces besides 127.0.0.1, check the bindaddress setting in /etc/mysql/my.cnf and comment it out if it is set to 127.0.0.1.

You will then need to enable the userid for logins from remote machines - I normally install and use webmin for this sort of task as it is easier than remembering the actual SQL commands.

Hope this helps.
Dave.

Hello Dave,
I checked /etc/my.cnf but it doesn’t have any bindadress entry.
Also install webmin but it doesn’t allow me to enter in the system.

I don’t mind to use the SQL commands, my problems is that I don’t know how MySQL work in terms o permitions.

Thank for your help.

first login as root
mysql -u root -p
password is eLaStIx.2oo7
then grant the privilege to a user and to a IP:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO [email protected]‘192.168.3.10’ identified by “eLaStIx.asteriskuser.2oo7”;

Thats all.

Thank you for you help.
