A Paging Problem

Not totally a FreePBX problem…but I’ll throw this out…

I’ve a paging group that has worked flawlessly until today. When it was activated, it did not release causing all of the phones in the group to appear to be busy. We tried rebooting the phones, but to no avail. Finally had to do an “amportal restart” to get everything back up on an even keel. Question is…is there some way, if an extension or page group hangs up, to kill the process only for that extension?

you can always do a soft hangup from teh CLI - what version of Asterisk did this happen on?

Asterisk 1.4.11.

When looking at the HUD the hung up paging had a like a 16 digit hex number. The Paging group is 9999, so I had 9999 this call serial number. So…If this happens again do I hangup 9999 or the serial number…and will the soft hangup work with a page group? Guess I’ll have to wait for this to happen again to find out.
