1.815 Fresh install -> network dies

Purchased a brand new Lenovo H430 with Intel chip set
Downloaded the 1.815.20.58 64 bit version ISO (8/14/12)
Burnt to disk on other computer, verified image
Changed bios to boot from disk on lenovo
Booted, install scripts ran with no errors
Spit out disk.
Logged in via web (chrome browser on mac).
Got the first screen with three icons (admin/ari/support)
Clicked on admin (http:///admin/config.php
New window opened… nothing loads.

rebooted server

I can see on the screen that it is downloading all new upgrades/patches whatever

ok all back stable
i can ping my gateway
i can ping a neighboring server
i can nslookup

i open a web screen and navigate to the main screen
Got the first screen with three icons (admin/ari/support)
Clicked on admin (http:///admin/config.php
New window opened… nothing loads.

so what is interesting is that if i have a ping running from the lenovo to a server on the same network, i get god response ~1ms
the very second that i click on the /admin/config.php icon… the ping stops
can’t ping anybody.

from the server i can ping itself at 127.0.0.1
and it can ping itself from its ip 10.10.25.30

nslookup no longer works
cant ping the gateway
and no one can ping the machine

any thoughts?

Update.

I was trying to build the machine while it was in the locked-down DMZ and apparently all of the updates were not getting installed. not sure why, because we temporarily gave very promiscuous network access settings on the firewall for the address

I just rebuilt the machine from scratch in the trusted domain which is wide open, yet NATd with a 192… address and everything works fine.

just need to go and re-configure all of the network settings now…
