Polycom Buddywatch with Intercom

I have a Polycom 650 with an extension module and would like to program the buttons to dial extensions with intercom. I have been able to do this by editing the -directory.xml file and adding *80ext to the items similar to this:

  <fn>Steve</fn>
  <ct>*80101</ct>
  <sd>1</sd>
  <bw>1</bw>
</item>

This does make the button dial the extension using intercom, but the buddywatch feature does not work. I know it doesn’t make sense to have buddywatch monitor *80101 since that is not an extension, but I am wondering if there’s a way I can make it use intercom, but monitor extension 101. Does anyone know if there’s a way to do this? Thanks!

This is on FreePBX 2.9.0.15.

If you can use 2 buttons.
*80 for one and then the extension number for the other.
That’s how I have presence for all my extensions and intercom available when I need it.

Thanks adline. I figured that may be the case. We’ll see if the customer wants to buy another extension module for this…
