I’ve ran a yum clean all then yum install openvpn but it’s still saying I have the latest version!
[root@vp ~]# yum install openvpn
Loaded plugins: dellsysid, fastestmirror, kmod
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
Setting up Install Process
Package openvpn-2.0.9-1.el6.rf.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
I am currently on 2.11 which took a long time to set up for our needs. Having just completed a move from a 300 extension Alcatel based system I’m letting the dust settle before I start fiddling with it again
At the moment ‘it just works’
I’m probably years away before upgrading.
Is there no chance that this could be added to the 2.11 repos?
or would it be possible to manually download the two rpm’s and install manually?
No, they’re all in security-fixes-only mode. Sorry.
I’m also worried about how far out of date your system is. I strongly urge you to upgrade your distro (you don’t need to upgrade FreePBX as well, but you should).
Saying that, if you REALLY feel unable to update, you can get it from the standard SHMZ repo, from /etc/yum.repos.d/FreePBX.repo - specifically, Index of /pbx/6.12.65/x86_64/RPMS/openvpn
It will be updated but not anytime soon due to other commitments and I would need to run these updates on test machines before I did it live. It’s a pretty major thing to do and with past experience not always flawless
