MOH via a line in (soundcard)

Hello,

We are getting ready to deploy FreePBX as our new phone system. MOH via a line in is a requirement for us. We use an outside service that provides music and other production services.

I’m trying to get MOH working by following the various instructions on the web. One of the first steps everyone lists is to make sure alsamixer is installed.

I’ve tried following these instructions to get alsa installed:

I get the error:
Error: Package: alsa-kmdl-2.6.32-220.23.1.el6-1.0.24-93.el6.x86_64 (atrpms)
Requires: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-220.23.1.el6.x86_64

I just can’t get past this point. We are running the FreePBX distro (64-bit). Centos does see the sound card. But, as I understand it, you need alsamixer to set the audio input levels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.

Hi bcunningham,

what was the solution for you?

Thanks,
PB.

six years later?

What are you trying to do exactly and how?

The original error seems to be the result of trying to install kernel modules for a kernel version that isn’t installed as a bootable kernel. That is a weak check. You actually want the modules that match the running kernel.

Yeah, but six years later? Better to ask the question anew, since we are (like) 3 major version upgrades and a different operating system away.
