Is traffic from phone to freepbx platform tls encrypted?

Is traffic from phone to freepbx platform tls encrypted? I realize that encryption outside of your freepbx is probably determined by if your sip trunk provider supports TLS encryption but can you setup TLS encryption between the phone and the freepbx? Thanks

Yes you can enable SRTP and TLS with FreePBX to your phones.

…assuming your phone supports it.

Thank you for your help!

Only the signalling will be TLS “encrypted”. SRTP, for the media, is encrypted, but cannot use TLS, as it is using UDP.

The initial authentication, and asymmetric algorithms are done on the signalling channel and the symmetric, keys, for the RTP are exchanged over that channel. Although the media is encrypted, most of the RTP headers are not.
