You should have the following in /etc/asterisk/cdr_adaptive_odbc.conf

[asteriskcdrdb]
connection=asteriskcdrdb
loguniqueid=yes
table=cdr
alias start => calldate

And also ensure that Asterisk is built with support for ODBC CDRs.
