FreePBX 2.11 Call Recordings

We have a FreePBX 2.11 system running on Centos which is configured to record calls. These calls are recorded on an external device from the PBX system. We want to delete old call recordings as they are no longer required. Is it a case of just deleting the relevant month folder or are any other commands required to notify Freepbx/asterisk that it has been deleted?

That will most likely work but the Call Recordings Module automates most of that work for you.

I know that you said they’re no longer required, but I’d like to throw in our solution for the heck of it.

At the beginning of the month, we archive the recordings from 6 months ago (on July 1, we archive January 1-31) via cronjob that converts them to MP3 (major space saver!), creates a tgz, and uploads that to an Amazon S3 blob. This has been super helpful for us
