Digium Phones STATUS

Hi Malcom,

I followed the instructions here:
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/DIGIUM/DPMA+Installation#DPMAInstallation-InstallationProcedure

Then:

CLI> digium_phones show version
Digium Phone Module for Asterisk Version 11.0_2.1.1

Rebooted the system, annnnnnnd : plane icons are gone !!!

Thanks :smile:

Yay :slight_smile: (some characters to reach the minimum)

So it worked for a few days, and the planes came back.

Just checked and DPMA is 11.0_2.1.1, and firmware_1_4_2_0_package on all phones, I’m still getting the planes icons.

Any suggestion?

Give me some reliable steps to reproduce what you’re seeing. Otherwise, we’re just fishing for an edge case.

Hi malcolmd

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to check a few things.

Now I’ve made full factory reset on ALL the phones

I don’t know how you could reproduce the steps but I’ll give you as much info as possible, if you need more info I’ll be happy to respond.

We’re using D40s, D50s and D70s.
As I said all of them have been restored to factory default then reconfigured by provisioning to FreePBX (with the DIGIUM add-on).

We’re using FreePBX 12.0.25 with Digium Addons 2.11.0.4
Firmware is downloaded in the Digium Addons modules (latest firmware_1_4_2_0_package)
All phones are configured to download latest firmware
DPMA version is 2.1.1 (latest)

Now ALL phones, whichever model they are, display a PLANE when we try to set the status to DO NOT DISTURB.

In fact, any status except AVAILABLE will put a PLANE icon and extended away status.

This is quite annoying because we do use the icons to see who’s just not available (DND icon) and who’s actually away for a while (plane icon)

We don’t have any custom status.

Howdy,

Great, now contact Digium’s Support department (www.digium.com/support) and be prepared to provide them with configs and such.

Cheers

We are having the same issue in our environment. I’ve contacted Digium Support as well.

Did you have any news from Digium ?

I’ve been in contact with Digium for the last several weeks.

We tryed several things.

In the end I found out that editing

/etc/asterisk/res_digium_phone_devices.conf

To remove those:

application=status-available
application=status-chat
application=status-away
application=status-dnd
application=status-xa
application=status-unavailable

And then reconfiguring all phones DID fix the problem.

When not defining those, the phone with go into DND when you press DND.

The problem is that if you make a change in DPMA, it will add the stupid lines again, and the problem will come back.

I just heard one last time from Digium and they told me it wasn’t a Digium problem, it was a FreePBX problem.

Hence, I’m back on the forum, anyone has an idea??

FreePBX version is : 12.0.74

Asterisk version is : 11.9.0

DPMA module version is : 11.0_2.2.0

Phone firmware version is : 1_4_2_1

The phones are configured in FRENCH.

I think that maybe a clue to the problem, since I haven’t seen this problem happening if the phones are configured in English.

Maybe it has something to do with the mapping, or something?

Anyway, I’ve been struggling with this problem for almost a year now, help would be much appreciated.

We do rely extensively on presence to communicate between employees… I’m about to throw away several costly Digium phones just because of this stupid problem.

God damn it the problem is back, and DIGIUM says it’s related to FreePBX and won’t help me any further.

Anyone has an idea for me please?

I’m about to throw away 15 perfectly functioning DIGIUM phones because of this god forsaken BLF problem

A client of mine was experiencing the same issue as well. Two weeks ago I uninstalled the Presence State Module from FreePBX. Problem hasn’t occurred since.

Thanks for the reply!

However Presence State 12.0.30 is enabled and up to date

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Uh…

Yup I’m an idiot

Sorry I should have read that correctly.

So i just uninstalled Presence State, I’ll test this and report.

Well after 2 weeks of testing, THIS IS THE OPTION THAT SOLVED MY PROBLEM !!!

Thank you so much… such a stupid thing became a complete nuisance for us.

Actually made the problem worse, could not reload

/var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf
Whoops\Exception\ErrorException: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in file /var/www/html/admin/modules/digium_phones/conf/res_digium_phone_devices.php on line 193

I’m experiencing this problem as well. FreePBX version 13.0.195.4 DPMA version 13.0_3.4.3

Symptom: changing status on a Digium phone to DND actually puts the phone into Extended Away.

The only thing I can see that triggers the error is when I “Apply Config” through the FreePBX GUI without reconfiguring the Digium phones as well.

Something happens overnight or over an unknown amount of time that will trigger this error.

Hi DataNetSystems,
I am facing same Issue can you tell me how to uninstall the Presence State Module from FreePBX?

Thanks,
Priti

well, if you want to uninstall it…go to ADMIN > MODULE ADMIN
and disable the module first. You can always uninstall it later!

Thanks
