Similar to several others, including this one, I have a clean Distro 14 install that has resulted in a broken installation and the “Critical Error” message on login.
The difference for me is that this is on a VM hosted in a data center, and getting console access to it is problematic. I know that the installation was incomplete because the NICs were not configured prior to its being run – the host told me it was built before asking how the network should be configured.
I’m hoping there’s a way now to resume and complete the installation. I know that starting over by booting from the CD will fix it, but is there another way? As I said, access to the ESX host and the VM console is problematic.
